Follow up kitchen quotes: agree focused changes

Organise changes after the planning conversation. Revise kitchen quotes with a clear purpose and agree the next step towards a buying decision.

After the kitchen planning meeting, a message arrives: different fronts, another appliance, perhaps more storage after all. For kitchen studios serving Germany, this starts an important sales task. You need to identify which change moves the buying decision forward and which is simply another idea. That avoids unnecessary design rounds and makes your advice tangible.

Use the latest design as your shared starting point

Prepare the quote and dated design. Ask what the prospect already likes and what still prevents the next step. Begin with confirmed wishes so that a single change does not accidentally reopen the entire design.

Distinguish a question from a request for a revision. “What would it look like with different fronts?” may initially be a request to see a sample. Clarify what the person wants to see before your team develops a complete new design.

Organise wishes for the next version

  • Stays as discussed: Record confirmed points, such as the kitchen layout or desired work surface. Mark them as the current discussion position while the purchase remains undecided.
  • Needs changing: Note the specific item and reason. “Explain another appliance” is more useful than “equipment unclear”.
  • Needs clarification: Assign questions about dimensions, connections or feasibility to the responsible specialist. Agree which answer is needed before a revision.

At the end of this sorting exercise, ask: “Which of these changes would help you most to assess our quote?” Let the customer prioritise. The number of new drawings is not a useful conversation goal.

Show a change and explain its consequences

Example: A family likes the proposed L-shaped kitchen but is undecided about the fronts. The studio arranges a sample comparison of the options it actually offers. Appliances and cabinet layout stay at the existing discussion stage for now. The relevant quote version is revised after the selection.

Explain which items changed in the new version and which remain. If the change raises further questions, explicitly identify them for clarification. Do not promise delivery or installation dates based solely on a customer’s preferred timing.

Agree a conversation with a clear purpose. Internally, record the responsible person, required preparation and date or milestone. If the prospect wants to discuss things at home first, record the requested return point instead of developing further options without being asked.

Combine ongoing design work with new kitchen enquiries

Before buying more leads, review promised sample comparisons and quote revisions. Allow working time for them; empty showroom slots alone do not reveal your design team’s capacity.

webRichtung provides access to new kitchen enquiries from Germany. Register your studio and choose industry, area, delivery option and monthly limit in webRichtung Customer. The limit is not a promised delivery quantity. You see the current price before placing a binding order.

Frequently asked questions

How should I handle a long list of changes?

Ask the prospect which change matters most to their decision. Record the other wishes and agree which ones you will address in the next version.

What if partners want different things?

Ask what they have already agreed together and what still needs discussion. Offer a joint quote review if they want one. Do not assume a decision on another person’s behalf.

When is another showroom visit useful?

When you can agree a specific purpose, such as comparing two quoted cabinet fronts. Explain the preparation and intended outcome so the visit does more than repeat the first presentation.
