Electricity enquiries: separate contact work from results
Review electricity enquiries by their current position instead of counting calls and offers as wins. A concrete example shows the tasks that follow.
Many calls and electricity offers sent can look like a productive week. What matters more for your tariff sales team is which contacts received an answer, where work remains and which decisions are actually known. A clear review connects those questions to the next work plan.

Distinguish activities from the current contact position
A webRichtung enquiry includes consumption range, usage situation and reason, plus supply location and contact details in Germany. Your team adds its own conversations and tasks. For a moving-home enquiry, a question about the supply address discussed may still be outstanding. That does not automatically make the case lost.
Count activities separately: one contact may have several call attempts, a conversation and information sent. In the overview of current results it still remains one enquiry. Agree within the team which completed action each label represents.
“Advised” particularly needs a clear meaning. Was only an appointment arranged, or was the actual offer discussed? A short note on the question clarified helps distinguish the two situations.
Review ten enquiries at one date
Suppose you review ten enquiries at the same date. Your team assigns each enquiry to exactly one current position:
- Three without a conversation: only contact attempts have been recorded so far.
- Two in preparation: a specifically identified piece of information is still missing.
- Three with an offer explained: the decision remains open.
- One with a confirmed positive decision: the stage reached is supported by evidence.
- One closed after a decline: the prospect does not want to continue.
That totals ten enquiries. The three offers explained are not also counted as three customers won. Likewise, a positive decision says nothing about revenue already earned. Your business needs its actual records for that.
Update later responses against the same enquiry and record the new review date. Otherwise, a contact can appear first as “open” and later again as supposedly new.
Derive specific tasks from open cases
Look more closely at the two cases in preparation: whose turn is it? If a prospect awaits your explanation, the next task is internal. If they agreed to supply a particular detail themselves, keep that agreement visible. A broad “waiting” status would mix the two.
For explained offers, refer to the latest question. Did the prospect promise a response, or do you still owe an explanation of their document? Check before contacting them again. No reply is not evidence that a price or condition was rejected.
Assign the working time spent to the enquiries too. Repeated preparation caused by unclear notes calls for a different improvement than an additional conversation the prospect requested. You can see where the process creates unnecessary repetition and where further support is actually needed.
Align the next purchase with that work
Choose one specific improvement from the review, such as a clearer note after discussing an offer. At the next review, check whether open tasks have become easier to understand. Compare groups with similar observation periods so fresh contacts are not judged like cases supported for longer.
Register your sales business with webRichtung and prepare the order in webRichtung Customer. Choose an area in Germany, delivery type and monthly cap; the current price is visible before ordering. Plan new electricity enquiries alongside the replies your team has already promised.
Frequently asked questions
Does every call count as a handled electricity contact?
A call attempt is an activity. An actual exchange shows what was discussed. Keep attempts, conversations and results separate so your overview explains the enquiry's position.
Has an offer sent already been explained?
No. Record sending and an explanation actually given separately. The prospect's response shows which question remains open.
How do I count a case with several conversations?
As one enquiry with several related activities and one current position. Each callback does not add another contact to the results overview.
What does a missing response mean?
Initially, only that you have no response. Check your outstanding promises and the agreed next step; infer neither consent nor an established reason for declining.
